Warwick PhD student wins competition for thesis

Posted on July 14, 2015 by in News

Jocelyn Watkins, a Warwick Medical School PhD student, has won her university’s first Three Minute Thesis competition for Best Oral Presentation in Health Sciences.

Her winning presentation (see above) was focused on how modern technology can be used to improve primary health care in areas where access to resources is limited.

Watkins won during the competition in June, and will be a semi-finalist place in the upcoming national competition, which will take place in July 2015.

She is supervised by professors both at the University of Warwick and the University of the Witwaterstrand, and some of her research took place at the MRC/Wits Agincourt Research Site in rural Mpumalanga.

From all of us in the Agincourt team, a big congratulations to Jocelyn on her much-deserved win!
