How to get to the MRC/Wits-Agincourt unit’s HDSS research site, Wits Rural Facility and Tintswalo Hospital in Acornhoek

This detailed map with GPS points of all sites, and distances shows details of how to get to the various offices linked to the research site, from Hazyview in the Mpumalanga Province and Hoedspruit in the Limpopo Province. Commercially and web based maps will easily show you the route of how to get from where you are to these small towns, as will a GPS device, but this hand drawn map will ensure you don’t get lost from Hoedspruit or Hazyview.

This Visitors Guide Nov 2017 contains details about travel arrangements, weather, local customs etc and is a useful document for potential visitors to read prior to coming to the site.

Learning Shangaan
The only Shangaan course we know of is from TAALKOR +27 15 451 1750.   There is a conversational Tsonga course through UNISA – if you find the link and someone who can let us know more, please let Rhian Twine know. There is also an app on the Hello South Africa site https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiworks.hsa.tsonga. Otherwise you can order books from Sasavona books – call JHB 011 403 2502 or go onto their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sasavona-Publications/171502762868834
