1-in-10 AHDSS Sample Database

This database is a 10% sample of locations from the full Agincourt database and all observed data at those locations. In essence, it represents 10% of the DSA. It can be used as an evaluation tool for developing data requests and for familiarizing an analyst with the structure and availability of data with in the Agincourt database. It also can be used as a teaching tool for demographic methods and the management of DSS data.  It does not contain data that can be analyzed for publication. Click on the links below to obtain this dataset and accompanying documentation.

Site-Wide Aggregate Count Data

Site-wide count data from 1992 to 2008 are available here in a Microsoft Excel 2003 workbook (234KB).

In addition to counts of births, deaths, and migrations by age and sex, this workbook also contains basic demographic rates. Such basic data include: Total Fertility Rate (TFR), Gross Reproduction Rate (GRR), Net Reproduction Rates (NRR), Crude Birth Rate (CBR), Crude Death Rate (CDR), Crude In-Migration Rates (CIMR), Crude Out-migration Rates (COMR), Crude Rate of Natural Increase (CRNI), Crude Rate of Net Migration (CRNM), Crude Growth Rate (CGR), Infant Mortality Rates (IMR), and Child Mortality Rates (CMR).

NOTE: Rates included in this workbook are prelimary figures and subject to change upon further verification by Agincourt data scientists.

Data Products

Site-wide, mid-year de jure population counts and annual population pyramids from 1992 to 2008 are available by one-year (MSExcel, 215KB) and five-year (MSExcel, 167KB) age groups.

Site-wide, death counts and annual "death pyramids" from 1992 to 2008 are available here (MSExcel, 196KB).

Data and plots for life expectancy estimates by age and sex from 1992 to 2008 are available here (MSExcel, 65KB).

Data and plots for survival probabilities by age and sex from 1992 to 2008 are available here (MSExcel, 72KB).

A small map of the study site is also available.
